Nero Ultra or Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator?

hey guys,

What's up with the new CD and DVD burning proggies? For CD's I just use Plextor Disc dupe and Adaptec Easy CD Creator and have never had a problem with either. I will need some DVD and new software for my new burner though. I have no experience.

-Is the Nero Ultra or the Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator better? And why is one better than the other?

What about Nero Easy DVD Copy? Is DVD Shrink still better than that? (its free thats for sure, free=good!)

I was about ready to order the NEC3500 16x DVD burner after I decided that the Plextor and BENQ were overpriced and the NEC is highly undervalued. For 63 bucks that is a frigging steal. Then I saw the Sony 16x DVD dru710a and it comes iwth Nero Ultra retail software which is like 85 dollars or something. The sony drive is 90 dollars so basically i'm getting the drive free because i'd have to buy nero anyways... That is if I get the Sony

thanks guys,

Blazer,
The NEC is slightly better in a couple ways. I think the Sony is a great drive though. I really do.

just don't know what I want. The NEC is lists DVD +r9 rating and the NEC is 8x DVD -r where the Sony is only 4x -r

Also the Sony doesn't specificy if it can do 4x dual layer it just says 2.4x on the box.

I guess if speed doesn't matter it is a great deal still.

recently used my plex 504 to burn a slipstreamed xp,burned at 8x it would not autoboot from cd,at 4x had no prob booting. My point is that rarely does anything get used under Ideal conditions.

Dual layer disc are expensive, what dual layer {dvd } apps. could you use it for ?
