nero slowing EVERYTHING down

I just installed NERO on my computer and it burns CDs great. However everytime I burn something, I can't to anything else with my computer... not ever browse folders on my own harddrive with out the burning process failing. I believe I have to change the settings in NERO to "not freak out" mode or something. However I have know idea what part of nero is causing this or how to disable it.

does anyone know what i'm talking about? Thanks in advance!
