nero search bar must die

i installed Nero 7 and it seems to come with some super horrible piece of bloatware that puts a gigantic search bar that eats up almost 2/3 of my task bar. i hate it with an all consuming hatred. apparently its part of Nero Scout. when it first installed itself i right clicked on it and turned off Nero Scout, but it remains. i google searched for a solution and found some registry edits... no success.

anyone know anything about this?

Yeah - POS - I closed and disabled it - like I need another search bar/engine - LOL

If you right click on it, there is a tab - options/properties and uncheck the two boxes that allow it to startup.

ya that was the first thing i did. it made the search bar go away for one reboot, came back on the next boot, and now when i click on options... it says Initialization Error... and no menu

Uninstall nero .. clear out all it's folders, files & reg keys
Reboot

Reinstall Nero .. but this time choose Custom Install if it offers
it .. . that you pick the features you want (such as no search bar)
