I had to reformat my computer a while ago due to problems and I just reinstalled Nero. I downloaded the most current update and updated it to 5.5.6.4. I just finished burning 3 different CDs at 16x and everyone of them burned at about 3 or 4 times too slow it seemed. Burning a 78minute audio cd took 24:04 at what it claimed was 16x. The next one took about 23 minutes, and lastly a 200mb data cd took 5minutes. This has never happened to me before now, and I cant think of what the problem might be. My computer is a 1.2Ghz Athlon MP
Epox 8K7a
512MB Pc2100
Lite On 16/10/40
Windows XP
Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know the exact problem that you are having, but it sounds like your burn-protection software is kicking in. Whenever a fast burner slows down like that under nero, it is usually the buffer underrun protection trying to prevent you from burning a coaster. As for a solution.... I have no idea besides playing around with Nero's settings. Sorry, I am sure that did not help much :(

I had a similar problem sometime back, I contacted Ahead and they sent me a patch that solved
the problem, it has something to do with the buffer settings....

Don't have the patch anymore...

Thanks I think buffer settings is probably right because I was just going to mention that the buffer levels seem to be going crazy. I will email them and see if they will send me the pacth. Thanks.
