Nero gives error message "Network error, can't access Internet database?

I upgraded my Nero to 6.3 and now no matter what I try, it won't access the freedb database of audio cd's. I uninstalled, reinstalled, downgraded, but nothing works to fix it. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

did you supply an email address (not sure if freedb needs it) ?

I don't think that freedb requires an email address. It runs fine on another computer in the same house on the same network.
