i cannot figure out how to get Nero to overburn CDRs. i've tried both Nero 5.5x and 6.x to no avail. i've checked the File -> Preferences -> Expert Features -> Enable overburn Disc-at-once burning box, but can't even burn 703mb onto a 700mb CDR. i've also tried making my own data cds and copying cds, but neither allows overburning.

any ideas?

thanks.

Who told you that this is possible?? I have never heard of burning more than 700 MB of data on a CD-R.

I ASKED the same question awhile back.

So i know what ya mean.

Actually it is possible. I have done it, and it works great for somethings, not some much for others...

Data gets a little hairy.

Who told you it wasn't possible? I have put 705 on a CD no problems... Plextor and LiteOn Drives have no problems that I know of doing it.

Well I learned a new one i guess. Didn't know you could burn more than 700 MB of data onto a CD-R.

Yeah but the quality of those PNY CD-Rs would be questionable at best. I've used TDKs and Verbatims and I rely on their high quality.

I don't know why you guys are so hairy big on 'overburning' in the first place. Considering the low price of CD-R these days, whats the difference whether you can burn 700 or 750? If i had to go out and buy an extra CD-R because i can only burn 700 MB, i hardly think my wallet/budget would be affected by it.

well, because if you have one DivX copy of 705 MB it's better to have it on one CD instead of split it eh ;)
