depending if Nero supports the burner, it'll be able to utilize 800MB blank cdrs. but i read Nero cannot handle a file > than 700MB.

Any truth to this file limitation? If so, is there a workaround? thanks.

abc:

I've posted a similar query, I'm using Nero 5.5.6.4 and CDR90 discs on a LiteOn burner. 92 minutes of audio no problem, just as outlined in Tom's Hardware Guides. No luck using the extra capacity for storing HDD backup images, though.

Please post a work-around if you find one!

nero allows overburning, you have to enable it
nero supports over 700MB capacities, you have to disable warnings and stuff

800MB CDRs depend on your hardware. some burners will not burn it all. and some readers cant read them.

hey there Mday. yes, I have a Iomega 12x flashed to a plextor (some of u may recall that Compusa special a coupla Spring seasons ago)
and this model does support overburning. I have in fact enabled overburning in Nero, and i've run through various little options within Nero. I've also read what I could find on the Internet about this issue.

1 file, >700MB in size, use 800MB cdr media = cannot burn with Nero (far as I know and tried)

11 files, each 70MB in size = 11x70 = 770MB total, use 800MB cdr media = can burn with Nero.

and technically, this is not called overburning, as a website puts it, overburning is burning >650MB onto a 650MB rated cdr.

Burning >700MB onto a >80minute (700MB cdr) is oversized burning (I think they called it).

I burn 800MB CDrs on my 12x Plextor all day long using Nero.

Go into the Nero preferences box and set your overburn to 99min, 59sec.
