Wow, they sent you rebate checks... that bounced? That's pretty unbelievable. You should scan those (blur out any personally identifying information), and post those on the internet. Then anyone that wants to show people about how Outpost rebates turn out, you or others can link to that page. 🙂

Pretty funny! Fry's in financial ruin as they start expansion to the midwest, continue to grow in numbers in the west and have no serious b&m competition. Yeah, right! Don't you thiink taking a leap from a "rebate gone bad" to "serious financial ruin" is a bit of a stretch. Hell, it redefines "stretch". LOL! :roll:

Uhm, no offense, but this is the internet. You can find any number of web-host companies, some for free even. If you chose to spit in any direction, it would probably end up hitting one of them.

Google for "free web host" (or maybe send a PM to RossMAN, he seems to know a lot about for-pay web host)s.

Yeah, mine is backordered, too. I'm more concerned, however, with the 6/17 cutoff date for the rebate to be postmarked. If it doesn't get here until after that date, will they still honor the rebate? Anyone know?

yikes, i didn't notice that. good question. i called 'em about the elidgibility dates and they said i'd be fine and it'd be shipping later this week so we should be fine for the june 17th cut-off. if it gets to be mid next week and they still haven't shipped i may call and get a guarantee of the rebate, or cancel the order.

btw, shipping cost me $9.xx! bastards.
 
Mine arrived today, Wednesday, but I wasn't home to sign for it so I won't get it until tomorrow 🙁 I paid for 2nd day air since it was only $2 more than ground.
 
hmmph, just got mail that they can't predict when it will ship, could be 30 days - that will definitely scotch the rebate! think i'll wait a week, if it hasn't shipped, time to cancel ... !

How does Nero Vision Express compare with Ulead Video Studio? I have versions 5.0 and 6.0 of this (came with my Canon minidv camcorder and Winfast TV2000XP tuner card, respectively). I plan on doing some video editing and hopefully burning to DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, dunno. I'm new to video editing entirely.

I have one of the 5.5 versions of Nero. Is Nero 6 necessary for this stuff? What does Nero 6 have over Nero 5? At the moment, I have only CDRW drives, but plan on buying a DVD writing drive soon (subscribed to the NEC 2510a Hot Deals thread!) Thanks for guidance!
 
I just sent them an email asking what the rebate situation would be. It's too much to expect a reply, I guess. If no reply in a week I think I'll cancel, too: not willing to pay full boat at this time.
 
June 1, I phoned OutPost to check inventory status and immediately ordered as "they are in stock".
Today, I received the OOS e-mail and called again, saying "I guess it's time to cancel if the Rebate
is at risk": their CustService agent simply cancelled the order w/o comment.

That's not a definitive clarification that the Rebates aren't honored on delayed shipments, but it's
enough for me. Someone earlier wrote that these sales are recurring... so Next Time.
