Nero 5.5 Does Not See My LG GSA-4163B DVD Burner???

The only DVD recorder Nero 5.5 finds is a virtual recorder. Other folks seem to have no problem with Nero 5.5 and this drive (I have the most up to date version of 5.5).

Any help/suggestions???

4163b is a great burner.why nero can't recognize it?

Hmm...I think the upgrade to nero 6.6 is free. Maybe try downloading it from their site.

the upgrades in the same version are free. i.e. 6.0 => 6.6. you have to pay for moving full version numbers.

if you arent fussy about getting nero burning rom and can use nero express, try finding one of the many hot deals on the nero oem suite version 3. should be about $5.

I used Nero Express, which came bundled with the LG burner. The only thing I can figure is that my version of Nero Burning Rom 5.5 (or one of the many patches/upgrades I used to upgrade it to 5.5) was specifically for my prior burner. Thanks for the feedback.

That'll be the problem. However, an OEM copy of Nero, AFAIK, isn't expensive.

Yes, a brand-locked version of nero can defininitely cause the problem...
