Nerd rage! Terminator Genisys plot revealed

WTF! Why even use Sarah Connor's character if they're going to deviate so much from existing canon?

Twist No. 1? Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator -- an older T-800 she calls "Pops" -- who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

Fake outrage. And FUCK! Huffpost and those photos. I especially like the one with Arnold and him walking off a private jet and saying carbon footprint? Yet this progressive media outlet doesn't say shit about Leonardo Dicappuccino about his private jet adventures and this man talks about global warming bullshit all the time!

See the movie first than bitch! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Huffington_Post

You have to understand this is a reboot and stems from an alternate timeline based on the changes made to the future by time travel. Star Trek has done this.

Terminator was done several films ago. It should be left alone with what good releases it has rather than trying to milk it out and release turds.

Our resident "I love all the Terminator movies!" fan will still love it, even if its plot quality resembles that of a typical multi-sequeled franchise, held together by references to all the other films rather than doing something original/interesting.

I can imagine the script-writers now:

Guys, I have an idea! Get this: How about instead of the Terminator saying "I'll be back!", John or Sarah should say it to the Terminator, while protecting the temporarily helpless Terminator! The originality of this will blow the audience's minds!

Guys, I've had another idea! Can we work in some sort of philosophical angle, that there's no fate but what we make for ourselves, while at the same time that Skynet and hot-chick and Arnie-a-like Terminators are inevitable?

Not feeling good about this. Why not fill out the existing classic story than try something contrived to attempt to relieve the glory days.

And people were saying no more comic movies, well this is what you get instead, bad repeats.

Haters gonna hate.

This is exactly what happens when you mess with time travel. I'm not even surprised, the 4th movie was as far forward they could go.

you could, you know, just not see the movie if you don't have interest.

or you could go cry about it on the internet to strangers.

Yeah - pass.

Also, there are a million other stories they can mess with and touch on. My fav is Robocop v. Terminator;
Using elements from both the RoboCop and Terminator universes, the comic book series begins with Skynet sending three Terminators back in time to Detroit to protect a turmoiled RoboCop from a lone human soldier also sent back to destroy him.

Discovering that the technology used to build him is partly responsible for the future development of Skynet, RoboCop sets out to take down Skynet in the post-apocalyptic future single-handedly. Part of the story focuses on his mind, the only part left of him, hiding and moving throughout Skynet's systems, fighting back as best he can.

RoboCop's human consciousness (Alex Murphy) waits for decades in hiding deep within Skynet's "consciousness", avoiding detection as the slaughter of humanity takes place. He waits for the opportunity when Skynet's attention will be focused on other matters with the war against the humans for him to make a move. A human assault allows Murphy to create a Terminator body that resembles his old form. He makes his escape and is nearly destroyed by human resistance fighters. He identifies himself as an ally and after gaining their confidence begins to plot to destroy Skynet with them.

Badassery abound!!

So in T1. Sarah called her mom at her cabin and let her know she was okay, etc. And she was in her 20's. And it was really Arnold - The Terminator - And implies he killed her real mom and mimicked her voice.

Do these writers even watch the previous movies?

I know when watching Star Trek writer interviews, they made new writers who were hired watch all previous Star Trek episodes so there wouldn't be any huge plot holes. Apparently Hollywood is getting lazy.

I'll pass on the new terminator. Sounds horrible. The only think drawing me to it as I'm hoping the actress gets naked. She's a cutie.

This will probably suck but everything Terminator past Cameron already sucks so eh who even cares at this point.

you could, you know, just not see the movie if you don't have interest.

or you could go cry about it on the internet to strangers.

Yet it's never stopped you from doing exactly that. You could you know, take your own advice and STFU and ignore it. Or you could whine incessantly about it in every thread.

Haters gonna hate.

Actually considering it's time travel that's not at all as far forward they could go, not to mention it opens up literally all of time so they could do anything. Instead they choose this silly reboot idea.

Just because time travel is involved doesn't mean things have to go wacky. The TV show involved even more than the movies but it expanded on the movies while shifting some "known" events didn't make them irrelevant.

Since a central theme of the Terminator franchise is time travel and how the past and future keep changing but always inevitably reaching the same point, why is this such a big deal?

The first to the second movies were the only ones with any sort of continuity (but themselves were based around the concept of time travel changing reality), and then it became obvious that they were going the changing reality due to time travel angle.

So what if skynet then sent back someone to Sarah's early life and killed her parents and then the humans sent back another terminator to watch over her. That's exactly what's been happening in that universe since Terminator 2....
