Neo's server...SOME MAPS SUCK!

My thoughts on Neo's CS server. Only maps that are UP suck except DUST, italy, and jeepathon. Militia is OK. The other maps are biased to one team rats ... Terrorist they have 4 exits instead of two (so basically CT are the rats TRAPED). the computer room one is CT (cause you start at the bookshelf and can snipe the terrorist) and the bathroom one sucks and mario IS HORRIBLE.

Implement more original maps that come with Counterstike, they are good. Or at least mix them up with the original maps. Urban and Neo (whoever else joins Terrorist) come to the darkside of CT and stop kicking my ass urban. I believe the CT had a problem last night or something on RATS where we got tortured horribly. I'm done bitching, your turn.

I will say in partial agreement that any of the original maps should be on the server (I like Militia) -- perhaps add Prodigy as well (fun one for either team). Take OFF Mario and Rats -- both horribly biased.

highrise or office are both good. Train can be fun at times too! I think keep jeepathon in the mix just 'cause its fun pistols only. Rats is kinda fun pistols only too actually. If you wait around in mario its fine to, except most people dont like to wait and prefer to rush.

Add arabstreets, but make sure someone shoots out the radio at the start of each game. Take off the rats and mario crap. Nuke is kinda alright, don't particularly enjoy train, highrise is really cool.. Any breakout maps around?

Ok, I'm back. Any of the beta maps are great though I definitely prefer Assault2k to the original. Jeepathon can be a blast for screwing around with "jeep jousting" and such. All of the Rats maps have their problems, the best of them being the computer room. There are numerous sniping points for each side but that's all it ends up being -- snipe fest.

The bathroom one sucks for CTs as does the kitchen (which is the worst). Mario is just crap -- two main entrances easily covered by T's with a third that is very difficult to access. All the Rat maps and Mario show some promise but need to be tweaked to balance them out (add cover for CTs on original Rats, ditto for Mario with additional access points).

Any of the other maps mentioned here are good. Too bad we can't play the old 747 -- that's better than the new one. And, please, NO ASSASSINATION MAPS! I really hate those.

Hmm... assassination maps? I've never played one of those... put one up...

I'm going to try editing the original rats to help out the CT's... it should be interesting.

Can't you copy the maps from the older CS and replace it that way? Or does 1.0 have some kind of safeguard against it?

IMO all of the es_ maps suck.
Mario is, um, unbalanced. The Terrorist team must have REALLY sucked, LordMaul, because there are only 2 real entrances, both of which can be EASILY covered.

I have only played a few maps and I thought they were all pretty good except for RATS. It seemed like if you weren't the first CT out of the "hole" you got stuck waiting for the water to go back down and the door to open. Or is that RATS2.

I like Italy as it's nice and big and mario seemed ok. The Jeep one is a little small but I only played it for about 3 rounds. There was another one where the T's try to plant a bomb but I don't know the name but it looks like your in the desert.

Are any of you guys playing on Neo's running Win2k when you play? I need some help fi you are. I can't get HL or CS to connect to any game when running Win2K. I can connect when I boot into Win98SE, but not Win2k. Do I have to open ports or anything?

Buckmaster was having trouble getting CS to load while using W2K. It might not have anything to do with your problem but I just remembered it was W2K he was using. It was back about 5 pages. Last post was on 1/15 @ 4:46

Nah I can get it to load, I had to upgrade to the newest HL release for it to work, but I can't get it to connect in multi-play. It will play single player and I can get a partial listing of servers if I use update. It shows Neo's bo prob. I can switch to win98 and pplay no prob using the same install, so i think it is Win2k and not the game.

Yes some maps suck and some are good take the good with the bad thats the way it is.
Yes I suck at CS but when I play I have fun and playing with AT members makes it better.

i agree with you MISTER 2 U, I enjoy playing on Neo's and like it when he switches the maps around. I don't care what map we play, it's all for fun!
