Sometimes it aint about which car is quicker...
To me a neon or civic just doesnt compare to something like an M or Rx8, no matter how fast...

Just making sure. I don't want anyone getting crazy thoughts like a Neon could ever beat a real car in a race without some serious mods. If you sink enough money into any car you can make it fast.

On the SRT4, the turbo is integrated into the exhaust manifold so it's harder to swap turbos. It doesn't take "serious" mods to make an SRT4 freaking fast. All you really need is upgraded fuel delivery, boost controller and slicks. Maybe some intake/exhaust work thrown in. All that is something like 1k in mods.

Sorry, not in the real world. These cars are already getting a reputation for blowing engines. To get deep into the 12's as this person did, I guarantee you they had to have some serious suspension/drivetrain work done to overcome the lack of traction FWD provides. A simple boost controller, slicks, and "upgraded fuel delivery" are nowhere near enough to shave 2 seconds off of stock 1/4 mile times in *any* turbo vehicle. Exhaust is mandatory, as is opening up the intake. Tuning goes a long way as well. You don't just throw some bigger injectors and a higher capacity fuel pump in there and expect the car to magically shave 2 seconds off of stock 1/4 mile times.

Eh, any car can go fast in a straight line. If the SRT4 could beat a Viper around a lap of Laguna Seca, that would be impressive, but this gets nothing more than a golf clap from me.

Haven't heard of any blowing engines yet. They run in the high 13s stock so she only shaved around 1 second off stock.

BTW post she made after her second trip to the drag strip with it still stock. Just so you can see how much she has improved.
