As far as replacing the stock fan on the K8N Neo2 PE goes with a passive unit that will fit under the AGP card I think you are screwed. Ever wonder why that stock NB fan spins so fast (about 6,000 RPM)? The logical answer is that due to the low profile of the NB heatsink the the fan has to spin that fast to cool the NB. Nvidia NBs' tend to run hot.Originally posted by: aboothman
anyone? Surely someone still uses this board....or has used it on the past
Yeah, maybe that could work, that ZM-NB47J is roughly 1.875" (1 7/8") tall. I looked into the Vantec Icegerg NB unit, but shined-it when I realized that it is a two-wire fan (no speed sensing rotor) so you cannot monitor the NB fan speed. Helps you know when your NB fan is dying (other than the odd noises they make).Originally posted by: aboothman
Bought the board off someone else so I have no idea how old it is.
I was told one of These would work if I bent the fins a little.
I am using a vf700 cu so that gives me a little more clearance over the stock ATI cooler.
Otherwise, I guess I will get a Vantec Iceberg. I just remembered that the fan speed does not reall matter,
as I use the MSI Core Center to slow the fan down.
