Neighbors can view my screen. How?

I realize the odds are better that I'm crazy than that there are hidden cameras here. But just assuming I'm not, what's the proper procedure? Call the police? Call a security contractor to check the place out?

summary:
Very insecure computer and practices:

1 - Programs with vulnerabilities not updated.

2 - Services with easy/shared/recorded passwords.

3 - Thought only running exe's from well known sites makes you safe.

4 - Freaked out when accounts compromised, didn't act logically, posted about it.

5 - Presented guesses as facts when talking to people who could have helped.

Keys probably weren't needed. Just figuring out the IP address and exploiting the above. I was an idiot.

Give me a minute while I psychically sense where it is you're talking about and what would lead you to believe cameras were there.

>what would lead you to believe cameras were there.
I can hear the people watching talking occasionally. Thus the crazy comment, heh.

I think you need to talk to a mental health professional first.

Bullshit. The cameras we installed have video transmission capabilities only, they don't have the ability to send or receive audio.

We use separate audio bugs to listen.

Well no need for audio bugs. Poor sound proofing does for that, unfortunately. I have to listen to the girl watcher whining about every little thing.

Geh, this article starts that video voyeurism is a "felony that carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison", but then it says a landlord only got "three years probation and 280 hours of community service" for putting a camera in a smoke detector in NY:
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/n...video-voyeur-law_x.htm

So they can escape jail time with a good lawyer or something? That sucks.

Whoa, all you need is a super bright light? Curse my stingy ways for not picking up one of those cool LED ones from the gadget blogs...

It can vary depending on state wiretap laws. If they are recording audio in addition to video, that can be a huge deal. In one case, a landlord had a video camera recording a woman in her bedroom and no charges could be brought since he wasn't recording sound.

You need to make your own strobe suit out of nylon webbing, a hard hat, and 86 camera strobes. Continuously wiping out the sensors is the only path to privacy.

Guess I'll go for the suit if waving my bright floor lights around looking for camera reflections doesn't make me feel silly enough first...

Where is "here?" Your house? Your apartment? Your place of employment? ATOT?

I can only think about Mel Gibson's apartment in Conspiracy Theory when I read this thread, lol. (All wrapped in foil, and everything locked twice.)

You may be a secret agent and not know it...

Jerk off a lot and keep checking google for your movie...

Yank out the camera, strip the cables, and stick them in an outlet.

Or hook the cables up to a dvd player with your favorite or least favorite porn.
