mizzou... Oh yes I can... I have the ability as does anyone to find a way to raise a child and that is what our country is about...!

I think I'm sensing sarcasm, but in case not

That is the logic of this country and it's why we have so many welfare babys

just having a child should not = approval for state aid

I'm against big government. In the past, churches, private charities, family members individuals, etc. helped people out until they could get back on their feet and become self-sustaining. Now we look to Big Brother. Our system encourages people to be irresponsible.

fuck helping other people! I'm all for equal opportunity, but if you purposefully fuck up your life you deserve to live the consequences and learn your mistakes or perish by them.

If someone came crying to me because they couldn't believe how quickly their credit card built up, I would gladly sit in a lawn chair and watch them fail at life.

Cancer, medical issues, death, those are situations that need REAL help, not "omg, i thought that $5,000 trip bill would just disappear"

I am turning into a vent monster, I need to go blow some steam hahah

You do realize that in three sentences you have just posted two utterly contradictory ideas?

Presuming you pay taxes, where do you think some of that money is going?

I understand what you mean but dont think you understand me... My EX and I lived paycheck to paycheck and had a child but we worked for our $$$ and found ways to manage... Welfare & Foodstamps never even entered the picture... Also after we split I did not even date for almost 3 years so I could work extra to cover what I had to pay in child support...

So what I mean is if someone even low income ($30K or less) per year can manage if they really want to and should not ever be told they should not have kids... BTW I paid child support for 11 years till my daughter turned 12 and she has lived with me for 3 1/2 years and the EX pays me...

C/S is a bitch, congrats to you on keeping up on it and being a man, your daughter will hopefully respect that as she ages although the ex may not lol :D

all i know is i'd have a whole lot less taxes to pay if we didn't have idiots having babies

Undoubtedly, some of your taxes are going to support people who you don't think deserve it.

Maybe you should have the right to decide where your money goes.

Sounds like your beef is with the government.

Church and private charities handing out money to folks magically gets people back on their feet. Government doing the same thing leads to irresponsibility.

Churces and charities can help people a lot more efficiently and effectively than government.

What we have now is a system that breeds dependence.

When did Americans become such busy bodies?

Reminds me of an uncle. Sold sub-prime mortgages when they were the hot thing and bought a new Infiniti coupe every year, partying all the while in an expensive apartment. Then the sub-prime crisis hits, he's out of a job, marries a fat woman with well-off parents, and moves to the crap part of town. Or the neighbor in a McMansion with multiple kids, each with their own BMW/Mercedes, throwing giant parties renting out limousines multiple times a year. Come the housing bubble's burst they're suddenly foreclosed.

I don't care if it makes me envious or pathetic; these stories always make me laugh.

I used to build MC Mansions 500K-750K homes...built 23. I laugh every day. People that got in and builders that did not get out in time.

Now I have a liquor store if you teachers want to drink it off much cheaper than bars.

Considering the busy bodiness you usually emanate in your posts here, and considering that you're a Californian, I'm going to guess that your Lotus Elise among other things is making home ownership hard for you.

I don't own a Lotus Elise, nor have I ever owned one. I easily could have if I took equity out of my house like so many people did but I didn't...and I still have my house and I still have equity in it.

Also I think you're confusing busy body with someone who responds to things posted here. Regardless of what you may think of me, all my neighbors like me and I'm not in their business at all.

I think I did. In the past, charity was helping people get back on their feet until they well self-sufficient. Now you have generation after generation on the dole. That doesn't serve anyone well, except politicians. Local private goups can much better direct aid than Big Brother.

Alright, calm down. It just seemed like he knew an awful lot about his neighbor's personal business and seemed to have quite an opinion on it. I'll admit, I didn't read the entire thread.
