neighbor downstairs keeps blasting his music past 10:00 pm

So at what time should I expect the noise downstairs to come to an end? 9:00 pm? 10:00 pm? I work midnights so I'm out the door at 11:00 pm but shouldn't I still be afforded some quiet time? I'm very liberal when it comes to noise but to hear and feel the bass al day gets annoying!

tell landlord/super?

I think I'll have a talk with the landlord tomorrow. Whenever I'm on the computer past 9:30 pm I'll throw on a pair of headphones. He should have the same consideration, no?

man i was in a dorm and my neighbors pumped the bass all day even when they weren't there. A few threats go a long way

Or a pistol?

That's what a g-unit thug would do.

Do what i do when people play REALLY loud music at night call the police

I'd like to avoid that mess. As I stated I work midnights so I'm not even home at night but I'm still sleeping at 9:00 pm so this can be an issue.

Also, he's lucky that I took a year off from college. If I had graduated from college and had a real 8-4 job then this would be a HUGE issue. I'm not going back to school until Sept. so I'm not worried in that regard.

No matter what time of the day it is listening to music at a volume that disturbs your neighbors is a misdemor in many towns. One of the many things to consider when choosing an apartment is how thick the walls are. So you can enjoy your music and your neighbor can enjoy their peace.

Secondly, most apartments have rules that say loud music and disturbances are a no-no after a certain time of the day. Check your apartment's "handbook/rulebook/whatever" to see what it says, or just call the management and leave a complaint.

OR... you could do it the manly way and just go downstairs and ask them to turn it down after 8 or so. If they refuse, then you give them problems. Fair warning is warning enough.
