Negotiating with cellular providers (eg t-mobile) like you can with Sprint

just got my new $30 t68m from amazon (charging up now) and before I call t-mobile to activate I was wondering whether anyone's had success attempting to get more minutes for the same price or a service credit, etc. a la Sprint. if so, what'd you say?

I got t-mobile service through Amazon and when I called to activate I was offered 25 extra minutes for paying my bill through an automatic checking account debit. No biggie, but better than nothing. When my husband called to activate his service he wasn't given the same offer but when he asked for it they gave it to him
