I'm posting this here because this is where I see it all the time.

If your car has a problem you don't say "it needs repaired". You say "it needs TO BE repaired". How hard is it to type those extra 4 characters? Or "it needs repairing". Do you people actually speak like this? If you do then you sound like a moron. I'm not a grammer nazi, I can tell when people accidentally leave out a word and I don't hound them for it. But for some reason though, on this forum a lot of you will write this. Bugs the crap outta me.

Your english "needs fixed".

your not the boss of me!!! i can right whatever i want on the internet!!1 if i wanna say you're call for sell i can!!! or if its not your car its someone else i can says there car for sell!!11 so then if they want me to fix there car before they sale it than i can says there car needs repaired before they sale it.

Ow. My brain hurts just from typing that. 🙁

I hate it when people say that their car runs "good". It runs "well".

i always answer with "mine runs gooder" to see if they catch on. usually they think im being facetious.

i also blame the prob in the Op on old newspaper ads. i used to read them all the time, and "needs repair" was always in there, since you used to pay by the word.

break out your TI-89 and then really show em.

fyi the real reason for this is that often people pay by the line for classifieds. that doesn't apply to online listings though...
