Need your reccomendation on a small laser printer

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a laser printer to buy really soon, so it doesn't have to be a current hot deal, but if you could reccomend some good small laser printers [good for one person: good output, decent quality, # of pagers per toner, etc] I'd really appreciate it!

I've found OKI LED-printers to be very good. Not to mention that they're a lot cheaper than conventional laserprinters.

LED printers?

I've heard very little about them... can you give me a run down and/or a comparison to laser printers?

Thanks

Here's all you need to know:

Samsung ML-1210

CompUSA has it for $199 every day, they have a $25 rebate of some sort on it right now. I've seen it on line for about $170.

It's fast, small, cheap, quiet, excellent output, an absolutely perfect printer for a single user. Has 8MB of RAM and gets about 3500 pages per toner cartridge. I have one and like it a lot. Highly recommended!

Brother 1440 is excellent. Usual price is 300, but can often find for 250 or so. Only has 2 MB memory, but you can add a standard SIMM, up to an additional 32 MB, which you can pick up cheap.

LED printers were supposed to become the next generation of laserprinters. Due to poor marketing they (and LCD printers) are quite unknown.

Some details...

When I was looking for an inexpensive laser printer, I first thought I was going to get the Brother HL1440. However, After looking at them, the Brother offered nothing compelling over the Samsung 1210 and it cost $100 more. The main difference is the expandable memory in the Brother, but the Samsung has 8MB, which is plenty for 99.9999999% of users. I print tons of graphics and have never had the printer run out of memory.

I second that! I have the Okipage 6w that cost $200 Canadian (~$125US) to purchase and tonder catridges are about $40 Can ($25US) each. The original toner cartridge lasted about 2500 sheets!! That works about to be one US penny per page! 😀😀
I've never been happier about this purchase - runs great, runs quite fast, the it's not a true 600x600 printer but runs "600dpi quality mode" which is very good. (Heck, 300x300 isn't THAT bad, but this 600dpi is very nice.)
It may not be the best thing for graphics because its memory is only ~1-2MB (I forget), but for documents and web pages it's been PERFECT! 😀
