Ok,
Had a summer internship, they only paid 9 dollars an hour. At the end, they were very satisfied with my work and asked me to work remotely for them. I said sure, but I'd like to know much we'd get paid and how many hours. They said they'd run some numbers, and get back to me. As for the hours - they are not sure, but least 5 hours a week.
A couple of days ago, the boss contacted me and said now they want to pay me 8 bucks instead of 9 dollars an hour. He said its because they feel that they do not know how much time I can give them because I'm going back to school. Also, they feel that now they can't give me real time feedback and my projects will take longer as well because I'm not working 8 hours a day according to them.
Its only a dollar less, but what bothers me are two things:
1. The quality of my work has improved a lot since I started working for them, and while the pay decreases, the quality of my work does not. So, I feel like I'm getting paid less to do the same stuff basically.
2. Its only 8 bucks an hour for professional work, not delivering pizzas or flipping burgers.
Do you guys think I'm expecting too much from my company or...?
Cliffs:
1. Did summer internship for 9 bucks an hour
2. Boss wants to pay 8 bucks an hour now that I am working remotely for less hours.
3. I wonder if its not enough?
