Need XP Drivers for HP Notebook

Arkaign

Lifer
This notebook shipped with Windows Vista Home Premium. I have successfully installed Windows XP on it, but there are some nagging issues that I have so far been unable to resolve. Primarily problem #1, though all are important to resolve. Issues as follows :

(1)- Cannot get IDT HD Audio Drivers to install completely in Windows XP. Have tried probably about a dozen different driver packages, and the farthest I've come is getting one of the 'IDT High Definition Audio CODEC' drivers to accept, and sound will play out of the headphone jack, but not out of the integrated speakers. In addition to this, another 'Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus' driver stub appears in Device Manager with no response when pointed to the IDT audio driver install folder with the infs and wdm files.

(2)- Quickplay buttons do not work. Well, they sort of work. The LEDs do not show any change in status, though the speaker icon next to the clock will indicate mute being on or off by touch of the button, though the LED under the button itself always indicates mute is on with the orange LED.

(3)- There are a total of 7 additional 'Unknown devices' listed in Device manager, although the chipset, video, modem, network, wireless, sd card, bluetooth, sata, and other primary drivers have all successfully been installed and all functions working accordingly.
The sound and quicklaunch issues are all that remains as obstacles to a 100% perfect Windows installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

If the Laptop came with Vista then your stuck with vista. The hardware you are having trouble with doesn't have XP drivers. Unless you can track down some generic drivers that will work with it.

Time to put Vista back on it. Windows 7 will have the same look and feel as Vista so may as well get use to it.

You can download all the drivers needed by the DV7-1130US for Windows XP right here:

HP

If that's not enough, restore to Vista.
