Ok, this is driving me nuts! i cant figure it out!
I have my network setup. I have cable going into a linksys router (BEFSR41 or such), everything works.
I just bought a wireless router and want to use it as a WAP, not router. Its an SMC 2404WBR. I connected one of the LAN ports on the back to the uplink port on my switch. Now, if i plug my notebook into the new SMC, it works fine, gets IP from my linksys, etc. If i disconnect the cable and try go go wireless (with linksys WPC11), it doesnt work, wont get an IP address or anything, cant ping anything. I know the Wireless NIC works b/c it works at school.
I am using XP home. I have set the SSID and channel, tried with encryption and without. Havent been ablt to get it to work, but i am not that familiar with wireless, any ideas?
