Need video card suggestion

There are no PCI-X video cards that I am aware of. Boards meant for 'workstation' use (rather than 'server' use) generally have AGP Pro or (in newer systems) PCIe x16 slots for graphics cards.

You may be able to run a standard PCI video card in a PCI-X slot, though. Would work fine for 2D-only or VERY low-end gaming.

I need 2D, but I need fast 2D.

Define "fast 2D"?

Generally speaking, even a PCI card that is relatively 'slow' by today's standards (like a RADEON 9000 or a GeForceFX 5200) would be plenty fast for running 2D-only applications and providing acceleration for the Windows GUI.
