Need Video Capture software

So I got a Hauppauge PVR 150 last fall and like an idot I lost the disks that came with the card, so now I have no capture software 🙁 and I just found out when I reformated.

is there any cheap or open sorce video capture software out there that I can use?

system specs:
XP Pro
3 Ghz P4
1 GB RAM
2 TB hard drive space (half full)
128MB 6600GT
PVR 150

If you just want to capture straight video then:

Virtualdub
Windows Media Encoder (sketchy results with my Hauppauge card depending on what mp2 codec im using)

If you want to record TV like a VCR then I would look at:

Fly 2000 TV
Media Portal
Beyond TV
Sage TV
Myth TV

yup I haven't had WINTV2000 fail me yet... the scheduler has been flawless too. It should all be on their site.

GBPVR was not as good for me... it took up so much CPU and I just couldn't get it to work as easily and just gave up... go figure... stock software being easier.

BTW, Hauppauge is a town not too far from here on Long Island... I wonder why they named their company after the town they are doing business in... that's just weird.

GBPVR should run great on a 3ghz p4....Mine is a 1.7 celeron with no lag. THe PVR 150 has on-board hardware encoding so no CPU required for encoding.

GBPVR was eating up CPU when I was just watching tv through it... wasn't even encoding... don't know what was wrong.

Try out DScaler. I couldn't get it to work on my old P4 rig but now it works with my A64 machine. A little quirky and eats a lot of CPU, but provides really nice image quality compared to evert similar thing I've seen. It also records etc etc.
