hi,

my mom's been thinking of gettin an mp3 player recently so i'm doin some research for her...

i have absolutely no experience with mp3 players as ive never seen or used one, but i'm looking for one thats as user-friendly as possible. it doesnt matter if it has advanced features or 5 cajillion gigabytes of storage , i just want something that she will be able to use easily and without problems.

any suggestions?

thanks a lot! :)

nope. my brothers are teaching her how to use kazaa to get songs, and they can kinda help her every now and then with that (i would but i dont live in the same country :p ) im just concerned about this, like she would use it at the gym etc, and i want her to be able to operate it without any help...

budget is somewhat flexible, im not sure exactly, but obviously nothing very expensive as only a basic model is required...

ill look at ipod specs, thanks!

Amazon sells them as does the Apple online store. Best go with Amazon because they do not charge tax as the Apple store does.

Don't give you mom a lot of credit in the smarts department, do you? How hard can it be to figure out how to press "play", "pause", "next", etc...

Creative Muvo. They are not high capacity obviously but they are extremely easy to use.

That's...
1) Not easy to use
2) Low quality audio
3) Bad battery life
4) Not an mp3 player

honestly dude i asked for suggestions, not judgement.

she's my mother and actually she is very intelligent, albeit not the best person with computers/electronics (as are most of our moms here, im sure).

Having said that, I stand my ground when asking for a simple, easy to use interface etc because, whilst to some a plethora of advanced, techincal options is a must, to the average user it is not only uneccesary but very confusing.

To those that suggested the Muvo, thanks! I'll check it out!

This is ATOT, you have to take what you can get.
She really shouldn't have much trouble with actually using any player if she is reasonably intelligent, but you really want to make sure that the method for transferring songs is as simple as the hardware.

Yeah, you're right, you know better than I do whether or not my mom is able with computers/electronics, regardless of intelligence (as i know a lot of stupid kids who know how to use a computer and i know a lot of intelligent people who don't have a clue, its more a question of specific education) so why don't you make a decision, because you obviously know what's better for her.

So just be sure to let me know what it is, so that I can go ahead and buy it for her...

Side note:
I'm not usually a dick to people or just snap for no reason but uni is very taxing right now and I'm really stressed and have a lot on my mind and the last thing I need is hearing some person I don't even know judge me and my family when it is completely uncalled for.

To those that actually contributed to this thread thanks, its people like you that make this forum such a sweet place! :)
And to those that crapped in here, don't forget to whipe.

You could try getting some 2nd gen iPods off fleaBay? The iPod is prob the best MP3 player out there, esp. when you take ease of use in account.. heck.. just hang around FS/FT forums until a deal suddenly pops up :)

Wow... I even tried to help you out and you had to be a sarcastic ass. I'm sorry, but comparing the use of an MP3 player, espeicaly a flash one to using a computer is rediculus. Most likely the most confusing part is going to be the software that transfers the files from the computer

If your mom can't figure out "play, pause, stop, track advance and track back" in more than a couple of minutes there is more of a problem than different specific education. Get something Creative, I hear they have the best transfer software.
