Need USB Keyboard switch (KVM) to share KB

As am I ...with a KVM switch. But it's for legacy (ps/2) and it can't handle the usb keyboard (i've tried).

Are you using a USB keyboard? If so, what switch are you using?

Yep, i've used 2, the one at the moment is ******, but we have a rather nice one downstairs i'll check what it is.

Aten CS 102 U, works well although i have no idea what the max resolution is.

USB is the norm rather than the exception these days.

DVI KVMs exist too, but they cost a fortune.

There are DVI and USB KVMs. However, KVMs aren't the most stablest pieces of hardware. They're often times flaky and work when they want to. IOGear makes decently priced USB KVM switches. They also make DVI switches. Just be warned, their KVMs do not work with nForce 4 chipset motherboards.

Automatic how? The belkin one i have at the moment can be switched using software, and will detect which PC is turned on and run on that alone (if one is turned on, one is off).

If you have 2 PCs then you either press a button to swtich or you use the software.

automatic like I think you've described. Turn on one PC and the switch knows which PC to associate with the usb keyboard. by software is OK... as long as it works and is reasonable.

Don't have an NF4.

What model do you use?

EDIT:

Just found this. Looks good. Reviews OK. Priced right.
