Need unlimited 3g/4g/5g for my laptop (Please Help)

The house I'm living in took away the WiFi because people were downloading copyrighted content, I'm currently posting on my friends phone.

Do I need a Hotspot? Or should I get a phone plan and tether it to my laptop? What plan should I use?

I live in Los Angeles and my zip code is 90001

I want a Unlimited plan.

Edit: I bought this router that lets me put my sim card in to use it as a hotspot, gives better speed then a actual hotspot.

I'm using a unlimited 3g plan from T-Mobile for $30 a month and I get enough speed to watch 480p videos on youtube.

I'm not sure if there's any unlimited hotspot plans. I've made a quick look in the past, and didn't see anything. I'm using boost mobile for my home internet. My old plan was $35, and included 3gb highspeed, then unlimited 2g(~16KBps) after. I'm now on the $50 plan, and that gives you unlimited everything on the phone(less interesting to me), and 12gb hotspot, but once you use that up, you're done. No more internet hotspot til the next month, or you pay more. Still not sure which I prefer.

Here's the fine print on the phone plan...

5 Hotspot requires enrollment in the $60 Monthly Unlimited plan and the use of an eligible device. Eligible devices include iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone SE, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S -A1532, iPhone 5C -A1428, iPhone 5 -A1533, and iPhone 5 GSM; eligible Android devices vary by device. 30 GB LTE Data limits apply to total usage on the $60 Monthly Unlimited plan, including hotspot usage. Once LTE Data has been depleted, hotspot is available at 2G speeds. Device connection limit varies by hotspot device.


tl;dr
unlimited=30gb

Still doesn't look bad though. I might consider that instead of boost. I like that you still get /something/ when the highspeed runs dry.

Look up "PCsForPeople". They offer unlimited hotspot internet through Sprint, through their non-profit.

That's going to be very expensive, if it's even offered. Cell companies are ridiculous with their caps.

Look into something like Xplorenet, you will need to put a dish outside though. I think it will be capped but rather than overcharge you I think they just throttle you so at least you don't have to pay more.

Another option is if you know someone nearby that can get internet you could setup a wifi point to point link to their service.

There ain't no such thing. Well, maybe if you get throttled to pre-2G (you know, dialup speed).

You can try Google Fi. Voice & text plan is $20/mo and data is $10/GB up to 6GB. After 6GB, you don't get charged until you reach 15GB then you get throttled to 256Kbps speed by default. But if you want full speed after reaching 15GB, you can opt to pay $10/GB to unlock the automatic throttling. It's unlimited data if you don't mind the 256Kbps speed after 15GB.

Also, forgot to mention that you can request additional data only SIM cards for your other devices for no fees. It will just share your data plan.

I called T-mobile and they said they have a deal(that's not available online) that gives me unlimited 3G for $30/month and it comes with a hotspot for $65.

I'm buying this Tmobile deal but if the 3G is not fast enough I'm going to give it to someone who lives with me and get the 4G deal from H2o.

Why would you want this deal? 3G is horrible now.

I have a T-Mobile SIM in my Dell Lattitude. Unlimited 4G as part of my family plan (which consists of three phones and the laptop). Even works in China (albeit, only at 2G). Does not work in Vietnam.

Package includes free Netflix subscription too.

Couldn't be happier with T-Mobile. Can't wait until the merger with Sprint is complete.

To get an iPad IMEI is easy. You don't need an iPad or to go down to a store. You need a TAC. Here's a tac 35582008 for an iPad pro. Search for imei generator in the playstore. Download app. Generate imei. Profit. An imei is just a tac plus some random digits plus a check digit at the end. That's all the apps do. You can run the imei through swappas esn checker if you want to make sure it's good.

To find other TACs just Google the iPad model number you're interested in plus imei. You'll find tons of results. Lots of people post their imeis on used for-sale sites like rakuten.

i have a few ipads with imei so i didnt need to use any generator stuff but no idea of your use etc. (i put the simcard into a nighthawk hotspot and get 100mbit+ in most big cities)

3g is going to be way too slow.

That sounds like a really good deal for cell based internet, who really cares how "slow" it is (still faster than adsl) if it's unlimited. 4G is super fast but with the caps it's not even worth it for main internet.
