Can someone direct me to good sites or services that can provide me with a devent employment history of myself?

Also, I would be interested to know, what is the best way to find out what an ex-employer that you left their service on good terms say about you to companies calling in to ask.

ps: I know Intelius does this kind of stuff, but many people tell me their practices are shady at best.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody maintains an employment history of you. Companies use background check services such as American Background, GiS, etc to call your former employers as listed on your resume (or they do it themselves) and see if they confirm your employment dates, good standing, and anything else the former employer wants to tell them.

Even then, don't some companies just provide your name, position, and employment dates? (unless it is a gvt agency or something)

I see, also since you mentioned employment dates, lets say you said your worked for a year and 5 months, but it came out that you worked for a year and 6 months or maybe 4 months, do so many employers just not consider you just for that fudge up?

Also, what would be the best way to find out what some employers you left in good terms are saying to others calling in about you?

I was worried about this as well. I had a job I quit after a month to go back to school that I never put on my resumes, and some employers ask about gaps in employment. I don't think what I did three years ago for three months (moving, then working, the waiting for school to start again, etc.) is any of their damned business.

You want us to go to your interview with you too? I have some vacation time coming up, I can always hold your hand through training :sun:
