I just fixed my friend's laptop, but I had him set up a nightly backup program. He has it set to run nightly at midnight, but if his computer is asleep the action will not trigger. I need to be able to wake the laptop from sleep about 5 minutes before the backup is scheduled, so that it can run it's course, and the computer can go back to sleep. Is this something that Windows Scheduler will do? Is there other software that will allow me to accomplish this? I know there is a Wakeup on LAN, but he doesn't have another computer that can wake it up nightly, it has to be on the machine itself.
Any suggestions appreciated.
