Did my taxes yesterday need to trim some fat from my build, Ya i know i still need a dvd burner. let me know what i can trim and not lose alot of performance.. need to trim about 200 or so.. current price is 1277 need to be below 1050 or so

Trim the CPU back to e6300. You only lose one digit from multiplier and around 300MHz. That saves $40.

Trim the motherboard back to Asus P5B-E. That gives you many features + firewire (don't know if you need that). That's around $155. If you don't need firewire then get the Gigabyte P965 S3 for around $115. You're almost there. Glad to be of help.

Edit: Get rid of the card reader/floppy drive too. Buy it in a couple of months when you have the cash saved up for it.

Change the 7950GT for an X1950Pro which will do more than well enough if you're gaming at 1280*1024. More than well enough.

Other than that, Icepick's suggestions are exactly what I would have said. The S3 & E6300 is a great combination for a much lower price.

Are you going to be overclocking? What about the OS?
Judging from your video card, I assume you plan on heavy gaming. Considered buying a cheap video card for now and then later upgrading to a mid level 8 series card once they're out?

Keep the PSU and RAM, change the 7950GT for the X1950Pro, the 6400 for the 6300, the Raptor for a WD2500KS.

Do not drop the RAM, but I would go with this 380 watt Seasonic S12 to save a bit as well as ditching the Raptor for a more traditional Western Digital or Seagate drive.

The 380W seems a little low power to me. Sure its a good powersupply. But 380W does not get you very far.

Go back to the Enermax PSU. It's a bit more $$ but it will last you longer and also provide you with some headroom for overclocking that E6300

Also, if you are thinking of overclocking, you might want the E4300 instead.

It has a lower starting FSB than the E6300 (I think it's at 200mhz) which will allow you to reach much higher speeds in the end.

Well, this is definitely not my kind of build, that's for sure. I would make many changes.

#1: That motherboard is overkill. I suggest the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 or GA-965P-DS3, depending on the features you need.
#2: I've always thought it silly to spend so much on a video card. Also, I've heard the 7950GT is overpriced, anyway. I would suggest something sub-$100.
#3: The E6400 is a strange way to go. I would suggest the E4300, which overclocks to about the same speed, but costs considerably less.
#4: Go with an FSP Group (Fortron Source) 450W PSU. They sell for under $65, and will be plenty for your needs. You might even consider an Ultra V-Series 500W from Fry's for $10 after rebate.
#5: The Raptor is overkill. If you have an excess ohard disk budget, I'd be more concerned about data integrity than speed. 2x80GB in RAID 0 would be much better than a 74GB Raptor.
#6: DDR2-800 is probably overkill, but not definitely. It's a tough call. But if you want DDR2-800, I'd go for some basic G.Skill for $185. Something a little better--and yet cheaper--might be Kingston DDR2-667 for $164 (which will likely overclock to well above DDR2-800).
#7: I'd get a standalone floppy + standalone card reader instead of that combo drive. It's cheaper to do so, and easier to replace if one of the drives goes bad.

That's a lot, I know. I could be wrong about some of it, but at least you have some alternative input to consider.

Take a look at Gigabyte's cards. They have some excellent passively cooled x1600 and 7600 cards as well as higher-end cards with Zalman VF-700s stock (7900 & 1900). Given that their prices are competitive with everyone else's offerings I would definitely go that route.

Personally I would go with something like 7900GT or at least GS.

That Raptor is expensive. I got one when they first came out (the 16mb ones) for $139. Still, I recommend a 7200.10 if you wanna trim fat.
