geez, i hate it when people always freak out and complain if something is offensive to them. That's what kills free speech. If you don't like what you see, you can move on, some other people might find it funny and not get hung up on the fact that it might have other meanings.

If it is offensive in anyway, it's not the doing of the poster of this thread. If you people would actually read the linked page, it states right in the description that it would be good for sneaking stuff through airports. He didn't make the joke, he was just pointing out the humor in someone else's stupidity, get it?

Idiot #1 was the guy who posted this.
Idiot #2 has got to be YOU, LucJoe!!! Consider this:

1) NOBODY has complained that this is "offensive." Did you actually READ any of the followups??? However, virtually everyone has remarked that this post was in a) "poor taste" and b) not amusing in the slightest. Do you know the difference between the words "offensive" and "poor taste"???? If not, go ask someone who has a better grasp of the English language.

2) You then argue that when people "complain if something is offensive to them," "that 's what kills free speech." I'm sorry, so if we were to hear something offensive, we're NOT supposed to complain, according to you?? Gee, isn't that killing free speech in an of itself?? My God, you're an idiot.

3) You tell people to move on if they don't like what they see -- you obviously didn't like what you saw, based on what you wrote...so how come YOU couldn't just "move on"?? While you're busy looking up "offensive" in Webster's, why don't you also look up "hypocrite."

And just my $0.02, this post had absolutely no humor value whatsoever. It was not witty, it was not farcical, it was not even satirical -- it was just plain STUPID...not only that, it was in absolute piss-poor taste, considering recent events.

I agree that this is the wrong forum for this thread, but I don't understand how this post could be considered in bad taste.
DealyDo was just pointing out something he found humorous, and I agree that it is humorous... either the person that wrote the description of the product is an idiot, or he has a poor sense of humor. If the author of the description wrote that with those implications on purpose, then that person is definately in bad taste...

I find it humorous how little it takes to get flamed here. A simple "Wrong forum, move it along" would have sufficed

Was this a funny post? Definetly :)

Was this an appropriate post (for the a Hot Deals forum): Not really - I forsee a lock soon.

Whatever, although I can't see anyone paying $250 for an 'invisible' bag that can house your largest dog, cat, or bike.

To the people that say it is in 'bad taste': stop your whining - you saw the topic! :frown:

I must admit, I am still waiting on the "Refurbished Condoms" Hot Deal thread :p

Usually I don't flame poeple because we all make mistakes. Now, if you flamed me, I might consider retaliation. I will give Dealydo the benefit of the doubt. I try to do that for all people until I have clearer evidence of foul play. If you thought it was funny, that's fine with everyone I'm sure. However, September 11th will ring in our minds for the rest of our lives and making jokes about being able to get items past security at an airport is not funny, especially now. Think of how many poeple travel here! Frankly, serious or not, this kind of post could scare a few of us. Nobody likes to be scared, so it's not funny.

Here's a quick TRUE story I was involved in when I was 12. I learned a valuable lesson that day. I traveled to my granparents for a summer that year in the midwest and on my flight coming home, I made what I thought was a joking comment to the security person as I walked through the metal detector. "I have a gun" I said as I held up my finger and thumb in a gun looking position with a smurky smile on my face. This was 18 years ago folks. I was a child. However, airport security didn't find it funny in the least. Security guards came over and almost kept me from getting on my flight and arrest me. Boy did I get scared! In the end, that stunt made me look like a total fool. My only excuse is that I was 12 and didn't know better.

The moral of this story is that sometimes what one person thinks is funny may not be to others, or most in your case Dealydo. I hope you have learned to be more thoughtful before posting things like this, because it sounds like it's caused you more hassel than it was worth.

P.S. Posting things like this on the net will just make more people not want to fly. Part of the slow economy here in the US is a driect result of poeple not flying right now. Somewhere down the economical food chain, you are directly affected by this type of post in your wallet. Not a good idea.

<< ...and so how is making a pro-terrorism airline reference funny? Come on.
It would be funny by itself, as a ridiculously large 'stealth' bag. However, the references are uncalled for, and made in bad taste.
You would be wise to remove this post.

Agreed... why hasn't this been locked/nuked yet?
