Need to set up a screen for annoucements - have a rasberrypi

Not sure where else I should ask, so this is where I think it should go.

Anyways im looking to set up a TV that will show announcements 24/7 that can be updated remotely. My idea is to hook up a TV somewhere to a raspberry pi, and then have it just show a slideshow or something to show the announcements. No idea what program to use or how to update it remotely.

Not sure if the raspberry pi is the best idea, but it seems like it would be. I also have some extra chromecasts lying around if thats a possibility (dont think so). Lemme know what you guys think.
