Need to set domain from login screen

Hi,
I tried to connect to my home network using a company laptop. However, when I changed the settings, the computer said "The system could not log you on. Make sure your username and domain are correct, then type your password again" when I tried to log on. Is there any way to change the domain without logging in?

What settings did you change? There is no need to change anything. Just log on as you normally would if you were at work: same username/password and work domain. It will log you on with cached credentials. If you want to access resources on your home network, you will then have to provide credentials for an account on that network.

If you removed the machine from the work domain and put it in a workgroup, you are basically screwed. You won't be able to log on, because the only account that will be available is the local administrator account, which you probably don't have the password to. And you won't be able to log on at work, because the machine is no longer part of the domain. If you did remove it from the domain, you will need to take it to the IT people at work and have them rejoin it.
