Need to resolve my Case selection

I have made some posts in here ranging from the Lian Li PC7b to now the Ultra Aluminus with the X2 power supply.

I think I am stuck on the Ultra Aluminus with the PSU

Now I have been looking at all the posts everyday, and freezing up on what to do. I like this case, but I noticed that the second 120mm fan spot is on the side panel, and there is not one upfront for Harddrive cooling. So does this make a huge difference, or does a couple of good fans take this issue away?

I will not be putting this thing under major stress, and I will not be playing on it multiple hours at a time, so I dont think I will get this rig running too hot. The most that I will do for multiple hours is work on images in Photoshop, or website desiging. Gaming usually is about an hour of my time.

Heres the other challenge, can you put together a good case and power supply (SLI) for the same price of $100 total? I like that number because this is a budget build and I want most of the money to sit in the new conroe 6400 and 7900 vid card.

It says there's room for 120MM fan in front. Would probably cool better if the drive bays ran front to back but it still provide some air for the drives.

Man, what a smokin' deal!

I was thinking about buying a couple of Ultra X2s for my case, and that's what they go for -- $95 (on sale). So, that ad is no-bull!

The only thing that has been 'freezing' me up, was trying to decide if I wanted the one you're talking about, or Ultra X2 UVs...

As far as the case goes, ack... but it's *free*, so what the heck?!?! If you don't like it, no big loss, right?

The funny thing is that I kinda liked the case, not the power supply. Its different from all the black ones out there, and a few of the silver. I love the color blue, you know sitting infront of a computer all day makes me Depressed!!! J/k not really...


Nice link for the pics, I did not see that panel opening. So what size fan do you think the side vent is? I would have to remove the cone and add a fan correct?

Ultra Aluminus is ordered...

Will start playing with it to see what I need for it.

I about a month I will throw it all together, then post pics here. This will be my first build so you my get a lot of questions from me.

Here's one of the reasons I like the Ultra X2 PSUs. Check out the cable management!

They're also very stable, e.g. the voltage doesn't fluctuate far from norm, no matter what!

Ummm... that's nice and all but there's no video card, no optical drive connected and the hard drives aren't plugged into anything on the motherboard.

They aren't trying to fool anybody (I don't think). They're just showing what the case and PSU look like together, with the wires properly routed... Pretty clean, huh?

Yep! Me too!

I figure I'll wait until Oct/Nov -- when Dell (and others) have finished lunch -- eating up every 'Connie' that comes out of the fab -- then it's 'our' turn!

Probably switch over to water works at the same time...
