We currently have a Kenmore Canister Vac that's pushing 10 years old. It has served us well but will need to be replaced soon.

My wife wants to get the exact same vacuum again but just a current model. Apparently Consumer Reports generally rates them high...

I'd prefer one that is bagless so we don't have to keep replacing bags and since you can just empty it each time so it always runs at full power. I don't like dragging the canister part around but it does make it easier to do the actual vacuuming and getting under and around furniture.

Anyway, just wondering what's a good one out there and what people recommend.

Honestly, I'd go with an upright bagless just like you say you want. Only question is which model...
