Need to replace Canon SD870 LCD

I have a Canon SD870 that I took on a trip recently. Somehow it got knocked or smashed by something during the trip (it was in an apparently secure backpack compartment), and the LCD has a big blotch of gray stuck pixels on it now. 🙁 The camera itself works fine, but the LCD needs to be replaced. It's out of warranty so I need to look at third party options to fix it.

I found this store that sells the LCD and has a full service option, but they charge $80-90 for it. I also see a couple of ebay sellers carrying the LCD for much lower prices. This is $25 for a new one, which seems like a good deal.

Does anyone here have experience with this? How much work does it take to replace these camera LCDs?

I think I'll go for the $25 ebay one. From the description, the seller appears to be the same as the one on Amazon. I have a flathead version of the screwdriver the Amazon review refers to, but it should still work.

I have this same problem and I'm about to start replacing the LCD. I'm worried that it's a camera problem and not just the LCD though, so if I replace it, will the spots come back??

How was your experience?
