need to reinstall drivers

I have a retail bought compaq comptuer for a couple of yrs ago. I recently reformatted it, but it didn't automatically intsall the onboard video and audio drivers. I'm not sure if its supposed to automatically intsall, or am i supposed to dl them?

using winxp? not all drivers are automatically detected by xp so yes it is entirely possbile that you have to download them from the compaq site

Being a Compaq it, more than likely, came with a restore disk that should be used instead of reformatting. That way you don't have to go crazy looking for the correct drivers.
