what chipset should i buy?

I saw kt266 epox for $50 refurbish good? or not?

Its for someone i know. The least expensive the best.
 
If you are going DDR, don't get the regular kt266, get the kt266a. You could probably get a gigabyte kt266a board for less than $20 more, plus it's brand new.
