Need to incopperate my MacBook into my windows network

alfa147x

Lifer
right now i have shared folders, mapped into network drives.
on my MacBook i want them as network drives
how is this possible?
to connect to my file server i used the windows remote desktop connection how is it possible to do these on a mac?

i would like to try to keep the remote desktop fairly simple as my mother also uses it...

Thanks!

OS X supports SMB just fine although they obviously won't be mapped as drive letters since Windows is the only OS still using that braindead scheme. And IIRC MS has an RDP client for OS X although I have no idea if there's any better options out there.

Yes. IIRC means some variation of "If I remember correctly." MS means Microsoft.

So translated it means: Microsoft has release a remote desktop program for OS X.

You could also use VNC.

Mac has to have some sort of rdp client. I know that rdesktop is what I use on *nix, and you could probably find a port of that for Mac as well, or possible compile it for mac.
