My wireless connection on my PC keeps dropping, and I've tried different channels and am using WPA encryption. It seems to work fine on my laptop though.

So I'm going to hardwire my PC to the router instead of keeping it wireless - so do I just need RJ45 Cat 6 cable? I have linksys wireless G router and card....

I need about 100 ft. cable to get to my pc -
Basically want to know what cable to get (RJ 45 Cat 6?), and where can i get it cheap?

QFT, Thats what I did. WAP is right near my main PC so I figured why the hell should I go wifi on my main PC when the AP is 3 feet away!

Cat5/5e vs 6 is more or less a future proofing. Cat6 is 300mhz, whereas Cat5 is 100mhz. They both run 100mb/1000mb just fine. Cat6 will be able to do faster speeds possibly.

Cat6 also has a grounding wire so you can run the cable alongside a power cable without worrying about crosstalk. monoprice.com has good prices on cables.
