Need to get new T-Mobile phones

Haven't looked at the cell phone market for about 2 years since I last signed up for a family plan. The contract was up after a year but we figured it wasn't worth the hassle to get a new one. Recently the earpiece in my dads phone has stopped working so I need to find some new ones.

So, what are the most reliable options for current T-Mobile phones? I don't care about the bells and whistles, although I don't really care if they're in the phone, I just want the most stable cell service possible.

Every phone Tmobile sells currently is not really built well. I wont go as far as to call them cheap (some are, however), but i really believe that they should be built better.

u can get the samsung t809 for 9.99 after 250 in rebates from amazon. i have one and its been great so far

ummm Tmobile doesn't build the phones. They have Nokia's, Moto's, Sony's, and Samsung's... built better?? What the heck are you talking about?

So about the T809, the only concern I have is the large display on the front vs the clamshell. Seems like it would be easy to scratch/break (whereas I've dropped my flip phone onto concrete).

edit: reviews in the link the 2nd poster gave aren't great, lots of dust problems with the screen.

most people don't have a problem with the screen... those that do post on there, that's why it seems like a negative....

Where did I say Tmobile built them? yes, phones have degraded in quality. You can not tell me that the Moto v360 is built well....it feels so cheap in the hands, as do other phones do. Once in a while, you get phones do that do not feel so delicate, but they do not come in abundance. You can't really blame manufactures becaus ethey have to cut costs somewhere, but it still stands....phones are not built like were in the past.

I'm looking too. All I want is fliphone, bluetooth, speakerphone. If I have to take a camera I will, but that is not a selling feature for me.

So how can you blame T-Mobile for selling poorly built phones when every other carrier sells the same brands?

I am in same situation.

My family plan will end in 1 month. I need to get 3 new phones and a new plan. Is there a way to keep the current numbers and stay with T-mobile with new contract but get the samsung phones for that amazon price?

So...I've narrowed it down to the Samsung T809 and the Moto V360. At the moment I'm leaning toward the 360 because my father works in a very dust-prone environment so I worry about the sliding mechanism. Thoughts on the V360 anyone?

I've read numerous compliants of the razr's lack of reception. Folks here had an old nokia and a razr, and could move the SIM chip back and forth. The razr let them down.

Yeah I've heard complaints about the razr too, which is why I asked. Haven't seen any owner comments on the V360, anyone use it?

Razr: just go to phonescoop or amazon and read the horror stories, its a piece of crap.

V360: I had one, but got the Samsung T809 now... like the Samsung much better. Better user interface, faster menus, better reception, amazing screen on Amazon which you actually can see under sunlight, etc. I mean V360 is one of the most solid phones Motorola came up with in the past couple years (for GSM), but Samsung is just better.
