I have 75 college credits, which I earned from the local community college. I became discouraged and lots of things were going on in my life (grandmother very ill) so I just quit.

There is an older couple who are family friends. They say I have lots of potential and are willing to pay my tuition, books, and gas expenses if I will finish college.

I don't know what to major in! Please help. The only thing I am totally against is anything that requires alot of math. I suck at math.

I can PM the classes I have taken so far.

I am sorta thinking about medical field. Maybe EMT/Paramedic or nursing...

medical field is good to get into, if it interests you...baby boomer generation is getting older and male nurses are always in relative high demand.

college level science classes are a pain, but if you have the motivation and interest you will do well.

I STRONGLY recomend taking all the science you can at the CC. Much better.

if you don't want to take higher level math, then business is probably still out of the question.. they still have to take "business calculus" whatever the hell that means.. something that requires very little math would probably be something like an elementry school teacher..

go into the medical field, because the job market is huge there. Much easier to find a job when you do get out.

I have a management degree. It's basically worthless without experience. I agree with mobiblu. Try the medical field. Get your degree in humanities or management....then go back to school for either your RN or try to find a PA school somewhere. RN is the cheap way and will earn you $40-60k, but you can be a PA and make $70-90k when you get out, as long as your grades are good and you make a good enough GRE score.

Both are 2 year programs, but the PA program will leave you in more debt....it will just give you higher top-end pay and much better hours.

By the way, the only reason I suggest going for your degree in something generic, then going back... It pays to leave your options open for a second career later on. I don't like the idea of specializing too much in a degree unless you're doing graduate studies.

you don't need to go to college to do EMT. i think you can take emt training with just high school diploma.

it's unfortunate that you hate math, cuz degrees without even a basic quantitative highlight won't get you far.

I thought I sucked at math as well, until I got a tutor and promptly found out the only thing holding me back in Calculus was my algebra. We tackled that problem and I've been doing well in all my math classes after calc 1.

I hated math up to that point, as you can see from my sig, I sort of like it now.

EMT is a great idea. That is what am doing. I havent started but enrolled in the course. Usually you have to take an EMT course, get 6 months experience and then enroll in a Paramedic program. To be a Paramedic you don't necessarily need an Associates degree, but it definitely helps. I was at a 4 year school for a whole 2 months before I dropped out because it was just a bad environment. The fact that you have 75 credits will make it easier to get an associates once you get into the paramedic program. Most CC's have a paramedicine program I think.

Easy to find a job; ****** to survive. My brother and tons of his friends are physicians fnishing up internships. They tell me to stary the hell out. malpractice is a bitch.

listen to your highschool guidance counselors! as they will tell you, you can major in "underwater basketweaving" and get into med school, if that still interests you.

I originally started off as C.S. major back in 97 but quit school for some time and concentrated on working full time.

I just came back to school 2 years ago to complete my degree and decided that C.S. just isnt worth it anymore because the market is totally saturated, or at least seems that way to me.

So last year I decided to switch over to Finance and minor in C.S. and now I've decided to drop C.S. completely and minor in Management. I would say the Business field and the medical field are booming currently. Don't get me wrong, I.T. is still a good career field but only if you have a foot in the door.

Don't go back to school until you know what you want to do with your life.

I wasn't ready for college 'til 30.

Don't waste that nice couple's money.
