I've got a Toshiba 2.3ghz, 512mb, 60gb, DVD/CDRW combo, with internal wifi for sale in the for sale forums $725 good battery, all manuals and recovery dvd.

Be careful if you go looking for theses, the two newest models OD features that are "low priced" (recently as low as $499 after MIR) appear at first glance to be widescreen because they use the same body as the rest of the notebooks, but the bezel around the screen has been widened, and the screen is just a standard 15"
I bought my mom an Acer Aspire 3002LCI from Circuit City last week for just over $500. Not sure if it's still on sale but it has: Sempron 2800+, 15" screen, 40GB HD, 512MB RAM, 802.11 B/G wireless, CD/DVD burner. It's perfect for an Internet/Email/Watch some DVDs machine. Now if I could only get it through to her that once she leaves the house it's no longer connected to the Internet
