Need to find PCI adapter card that accepts Intel AnyPoint PCMCIA card

I've got an Intel AnyPoint (1.6 megabit) wireless card and base setup. I have a desktop computer in the other room that I'd like to link up with my network using the wireless card. However, I need a PCI card that is a PCMCIA adapter (for the Intel card). I don't know which adapter is compatible with the AnyPoint wireless card, or where to find it. Any ideas of which card I need, and where to purchase? I found this card and this card and this card, but not sure which is the right one to choose...unless there are others out there...thx.

After some brief looking at Intel's site and various web vendors it looks as if Intel only made the PCMCIA card (which you have) and a USB connector which was about 50 bucks. I did not even see a PCI card listed. I had trouble even finding a place to buy the USB one. This AnyPoint 1.6 mbps line is evidently nearing end of life stage. I hate to say it but you might wanna try fleabay for the USB connector.

Thanks, but I already have the "USB connector" (which I referred to as "the base"). I'm all set up for wireless if I had a laptop, but I don't have a laptop. What I need now is to find a compatible adapter for the wireless card so that I can connect a desktop machine...which does not have a PCMCIA slot...to my home network.

PCMCIA is PCMCIA, any adapter card that is made to accept cards will work. You wouldn't be concerned about whether your laptop was compatible, regardless of brand, would you?

Note, you still have to make sure the adapter accepts the card based on whether it's TypeI, TypeII, TypeIII. Don't know the specs of the Anypoint.
