Dear Anandtech Forum'ers!

As I know this community has deep pockets in the technical industry I was wondering if any of you might have a solution to my current dilemma. Basically a part of where I work at is to watch Hi8 movies and record times when slides from the presentation being shown changes. This way I can go back and match up the mp3 audio with the images extracted from the PowerPoint presentations.

So basically, I'm wondering if there is a product available along similar lines to what is used at airports that looks for possible terrorists. I have the PowerPoint slides that I know will be used on the tape in a folder in either PNG or JPG format. Using that as a database to compare, I next need the software to record the points where the slides change, and which slide it is changing too. Sometimes a presenter might go back a few slides or forward a few slides. Also in the case that they use a slide that isn't in the database it should be marked as "UnknownslideXX" The output should be a log type file.

So what do I need to compare Hi8 tape on half-second intervals to a select database of images, recording times, etc.?
