Anyone know where I can find a decent pair of speakers that's about 30 inches tall? Just been tasked by my dad to find a pair that can fill up the space on the side of the TV, they will be placed on the same shelf as the TV. Used without sub. It might be able to go up to 33" but not more than that. So far book shelf ones are too small (he already using book shelf right now), centers aren't big enough neither and they are expensive. Tiny floor standings are too tall... so far i've checked av123, svs, speakercompany, polks on newegg and haven't found anything close (closest being polks standing 35" tall).

can anyone give me some ideas?

Do you have a picture of the situation?

One goal should be to get tweeters at ear height.

thanks for the suggestions guys, i will look into them. Yoyo, sorry don't have a pic right now but it's a 46" TV sitting on this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20117674

proportional wise it's much like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80133930

they will be sitting on a sofa, I think a monitor is best when talk about listening position height wise. I had told him my concern with the off angle, but since they are sitting at about 10 feet away i don't worry about it too much.

why are speakers going on shelf? What's wrong with the speakers standing besides that thing?

im sure he will entertain the wall mounting, but we looked at the definitive tech mshan posted above and he think they are too expensive... I think i might have to look into smaller vintage floor standing now =/

Off the top of my head, I'd say to look at the Dynaudio Excite X32 - 36", Thiel CS1.6 - 35.5", Vienna Acoustic's Bach Grand - 34.6".

Damn, I thought at least one of those would be closer to 33"...and it sounds like price might be an issue anyway, those are all entry-level speakers for those manufacturers, but even then, they're not cheap.
