Need to find a good plane ticket price but am out of my element

I haven't ridden a plane since I was 7. But I'm now in need of booking a flight and don't have the luxury of spending lavishly. Where do I go or look up? Priceline or something? Any tips on the best days/times? I'm hoping to leave Syracuse NY for Grenville Spartanburg SC either Saturday evening the 12th or sometime Sunday the 13th.

Check southwest.com, and kayak.com. If both of those websites are still high, you may wanna try "Name Your Own Price for Flights" on Priceline.com (if you go this route, you won't have the luxury of selecting the departure and return times).
