Need to edit a Real Video file

I've been using Sonic Foundry Vegas for everything till now, but it doesn't seem to know what to do with a real video file. Any tips?

Probably best to convert it to a wav, then edit it.

it's real video, not audio. Is there anyway to convert the REAL file into an AVI?

anyone use EasyX's RM to AVI software? Or know where I can find a copy, their website is either down, or they have shut down.
