need to connect laptop to tv

Please specify your laptop so we can determine the available video outputs and their specs. The most common thing we look for today is Video 'S.'

But there are other options and a vatriety of adapters. But we need toknow what is available. The connector on your LG TV is a digital video connector.

duh sry i forgot, ok there is an svideo on the laptop and the tv but i dont want to use svideo i just want the proper adapter for the VGA to that weird looking DVI and if you look at the pictore its not like a regular DVI i already bought two vga to dvi adapters and the dvi isnt the same thing

Go S video to S video. Life is easy. Anything else is a PITA. Aside from mucho $$$

lol, this info was for my uncle wen he told me he had S-Video i was like "lkasdflkj;asdflkj;sd WTF" why do you have to make life complicated just go S-Video and he was like i know i could have but its pissing me off that i couldnt find the adapter

That's actually a regular DVI. I have a connector like that that would plug into a DVI female. Did you get a regular vga cable and use an vga/dvi adapter on the tv? That should work. If it doesn't then, you should check the manual on the laptop and find out how to output it either in clone mode or extended mode. Not all laptop are the same.
