Need to be a window AC

In Maine during the summer temps reach around 85+ with 98% humidity at times, my living room is unbairable at times and would like a window AC. I've been thinking about purchasing this modelfrom GE, does this sound like a decent model fo a 300 sq foot room?

yes, that will work ok

i had a similar unit in the kitchen (and it blew into the living room) when i lived in a non-central A/C house in upstate NY

8000 btu is plenty.

You could probably even get away with a 6000-6500 BTU model.....especially in Maine. Just be sure that whatever you get is Energy Star compliant.
